Hello, I am Chiara
I'm a project manager and a parent. An expatriate residing in Rome, Italy.
Several years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter living overseas.
How It Began
Moving to Italy wasn’t in the plans I had for the long haul. Like many international transfers, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, routines, and expectations. Daily tasks seemed more complex than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of learning through doing. Gradually, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Built Brisk Terra Atlas
Most online guidance was either corporate relocation tips or superficial tourism content. What was lacking was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice grounded in real life in Italy.
What This Site Does (And Doesn’t)
This Site Is:
- Hands-on experience from living in Italy
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This Site Isn’t:
- A tourism authority resource
- A sponsored review platform
- A generic travel blog
What Lies Ahead
Our stay in Italy goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Rome or anywhere in Italy, you’re welcome to get in touch.
Best regards,
Chiara
